Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Oh thanks!

If my yard wasn't such a mess right now lol.

As soon as I get new straw down I will

Look forward to it. With as much rain as most of us have been having you'd most likely fit right in.

I did end up giving my young muscovy "quack quack" (3 year old named him) a bath last night. He was very happy. I don't have a clear pic but a dark one I do haha.

I'm really bummed...his (pretty sure he's male but been wrong before) sibling disappeared. I'm hoping he was in the coop and I didn't see him without my glasses but I looked all over the yard, which isn't big. I do live on a pond and the ducks do occasionally (well except on big black drake heh. Every day he flies out and every day I have to open the gate cause he won't fly back in) fly out but I don't think this guy was big enough to fly :( I'm worried a cat got him...but I haven't found a corpse or anything. With this horrid weather I'm already concerned about cocci and I've had one young chicken I had to bring inside. Sorry got off track. Just feel terrible about it. Like I saw him when I moved the tractor but then I can't find him. Ugh. But here is quack quack.

and this one I honestly don't think I have ever see this color how old is this one? Gorgeous

Lovely color, did you missing duck turn up? have you thought of clipping a wing to keep this from happening?

Not yet :((((

I'm putting out straw today if my back let's me right now I have shooting pain down my left leg so right now that's a big fat nope.

I'm afraid I'm gonna find him dead :((

But I'm sure I mean SURE they can't fly yet. Their flight feathers aren't in yet!

The older ones no I don't clip so they can go into the pond as they like.

I'm 99% sure my baby is gone :(

Howdy. So I'm finally a bit more scovy experienced lol. Still need a bit o' help...

I'm trying to figure out how to do lilacs and pastels. I have a chocolate female, barred lavender split to chocolate male (her son, she's also split to lavender. His dad was lavender obvs), and a blue eyed blue pied male, a weird...blue eyed cream? Very light tan pied female, and blue pied female.

Lol. Someone sort me out. I also have a black female split to lavender I believe that came from the lav dad choc mom I just kept her cause she was atipico but she didn't turn out dusky. I obviously don't have much grasp on mascovy genetics at this point.

I BELIEVE I need a chocolate male to breed to blue female? And then also need a lav or split to lav to end up with some of the pastels? Is this right?

I'll take a stab at your questions:

For more lavender you need a lavender male or split to lavender male over lavender or split to lavender females. With one lavender parent and a split parent you will get 50% lavenders and 50% lavender splits.

With two split to lavender parents you will get 50 % lavender splits, 25% lavenders, and 25% non lavender splits.

As far as a chocolate male for your blue female what are your color goals? This pairing will give you blue fawn and chocolate females and blue and black males split to chocolate.
