Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Haha. I clipped my muscovies wings when they were younger because they kept flying out of their pen. But they kept getting out somehow and I couldn't figure out how until I caught them in the act. They figured out how to climb the fence. It's a 7 foot fence. So I just bought a tarp and put it over the top and haven't clipped their wings since because it was kinda pointless.
Miranna the escape artist.... Walked out the front door and there she was nibbling on the basket of egg shells I had sat outside.... I told her mommy what a naughty girl she was....

What kind of fence were they climbing??

Does anybody have a Muscovy/Swedish mixed duck? If so could you post a picture cause I might be getting some from my broody Swedish and I have a Muscovy drake and all of the eggs are firtile.
I used to. Most had Swedish markings but with more yellow feathers
I was wondering what a Muscovy X would look like. Do they get caruncles?

My BB is telepathic...LOL, just the other day I wrote that with all of the broody talk that I was hoping for a broody. She's now sitting on 10 eggs

I had to move her nest a few feet to higher ground because of all of the rain. She sat there and watched me. In less then ten mins she was sitting again

woo hoo hoo!

O wow, too funny!  I bet it is crazy.
Yeah. They jump up and grab part of the fence and flap their wings to balance themselves then quickly thrust themselves upward with their legs and grab another part of the fence and repeat the process. They usually did this about 3 times before they reached the top and just jumped down outside the pen. They stopped eventually when they realized that tarp was there and they weren't going to be able to get out again. It's been about 20 years since I started raising muscovies and I still don't know if that's a normal thing that muscovies do because these 5 females I've got right now are the only ones that have done that. Do you know if that's normal?

we just found this stray baby about a week ago in our garage!!! No family in sight! We adopted him! I'm guessing it a Muscovy because it seems that is all we have here in Florida!! His name is Hamilton
Just thought I'd inform you that I'm stealing the name you gave him for one of my new Toulouse goslings coming from a hatchery next month. Hamilton is too good a name for you to keep to yourself.

WOW, that is just too funny. I'm new to Muscovies so I don't have a clue but I would say this is not normal, lol. I've read that they are well adapted to climb trees but chain link?? That's amazing. You should video tape it and submit for funny home videos and WE could be rich, lol. (fee for thinking of it, lol)
