Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Just some young king snakes. The ducks gobbled them up.
WTG ducks! Wish our snakes were duck edible. Snakes are so big here I have to worry about the reverse happening

Should I be concerned at all that two of my chocolates are significantly smaller than the rest? It is too early for the drakes to be bigger than the ducks right?
At 2 weeks I say too young to tell yet. Are the 2 smallest eating good and doing all things duckie? Sometimes there will be smaller but it's usually around 4-5 weeks before the drakes begin to out grow females but by 6 weeks you should be able to tell for sure.

Earl and Wanda (my little ones) are doing everything that all the others do. They seem to be eating well and drinking. I did notice that they were the only two that didnt seem to enjoy the water as much and seemed a little chilled when they got out. Everyone else was swimming and grooming and splashing and they just sat. I got them out and they seemed cold so I helped dry them off and let them sun bathe. It was about 98 degrees that day so it didnt take long for them to warm back up and the water had been in the sun for a bit before I let them get in and pretty warm. Maybe they are just runts. I am hoping to move them out of the brooder tomorrow to a grassed area of the yard. (They were at my inlaws in the pics above on a field trip) They still have feed available 24/7 right now but when they get moved to the grass tomorrow, I plan on only feeding twice a day and letting them forage. We are being invaded right now by June bugs and the babies seem to love them! haha It has been such a pleasure having them around.

I hate how they grow so fast but then the bigger they are the safer they are in my world. Looks like you've got some pretty colors there!
Thank you! I am excited to see their colors when they get their feathers in. Although.. it is making it a bit more difficult to tell who is who. haha

Do you coop yours at night? Eventually we are wanting to let them free range, but I am still worried about predators.

I know what you mean. I've been very lucky with my 6 in that they have many differences.

Yes, absolutely. Mine are 8 wks now and I have not turned them out 24/7 yet, but the others do free range during the day. Our Big Boy Bob doesn't always come in at night. He likes to stay at the stock tank at night and then he's right there in the morning waiting for me to let his girls out. He's confused right now because his girls are sitting on eggs

You are right on to be worried about predators. Do you have a fenced in area they will free range in? We have 2 dogs that keep everything but SNAKES

out. When ours free range they have fences that they can cross through to get to our stock tanks, etc. I worry when they are out of the dogs' perimeters. I actually had a coyote come in the other day. It was in the cow pen where everyone was puddling around in the mud. Everyone got back through to the safe side. THANK GOD. SO, I'm rethinking their option to go farther than where the dogs are.
