Muscovy eggs are extremely hard to crack almost need a hammer, and are very smooth, take a chicken egg and compare to one you think maybe a duck egg, plus there isn't as much white inside the egg as chicken more yolk.

Tried to get newer video of Daisy dancing but she was tired last night & just wanted me to drop the peas & go to bed

Looking at your pictures and video's makes it hard to wait on mine to hatch. I have 40 Muscovies in the incubator. I know they take 35 days but have yall ever had them hatch any earlier than that? Should I still lock down 3 days prior to day 35 or a little earlier, just in case? I have one "special needs" egg that has a small crack and the air cell is not in the right place. It's not off too horribly so I am praying that he pips in the right place. I didn't know it was cracked until I candled at about day 14 and by then he was already developing. I am on day 24 an they look great. I try not to candle too often but I did tonight and on one of the eggs I could see a foot kicking!!! I can't wait to see what colors hatch out!

!! lol, but SO totally worth the wait. They are so much cuter than other baby ducks I have hatched.

They have a different feel to them than a chicken egg. Their shell is smooth and almost waxy like their is a film on it. Sometimes there are small bumps on the shell ...... I call them barnacles.

The shells are harder than a chicken egg but not near as hard as a guinea egg. When you crack them open they have a huge yolk. There is way more yolk than the clear stuff which is probably why everyone says they are very rich. I think they taste just like a chicken egg. I can't taste the difference. People were trying to tell me that duck eggs taste fishy..... Maybe that is true of most ducks that spend alot of time in the water but the Scovie eggs aren't fishy at all.
