Muscovy keepers share your pics!

I haven't been on in awhile! Barbosa, the one that lost his foot, is doing amazing. Hes outside with other ducks, can still swim in creek and even mated! My husband thought me keeping him for breeding was stupid but he did it! With my solid chocolate which was my hope. So happy we kept him!
I'm so glad you kept him. He's precious. Great news that he's doing so well.

We just put our 3 Muscovy babies out that we hatched from eggs in our incubator. They are in our flock enclosure where they can see our other ducks and pair of Buff Geese, but not be harassed by any. All our flock is young, the oldest being 9 weeks old. The 3 Muscovy ducklings are 4 weeks and 6 days old, and one 4 weeks and 5 days old. Our temps are very warm and the enclosure is large and covered. At night the three Muscovies will share a large dog crate in the enclosure and the rest of the flock will be allowed in the enclosure, but still won’t be able to harass or harm them. We will slowly introduce them to the flock until they are fully integrated. Their fenced and covered enclosure is surrounded by 4’ electric poultry netting.

Do you have any idea what their gender might be? All three are about the same size, even though one is 1.5 days younger than the other two.

Can you get a picture of them standing so we can see the thickness of their legs? I'm getting a male vibe from the 2 on the right, maybe.

Well, I managed to get some pics of them standing when we were putting them all inside their housing for the night. I hope this helps and I’m thinking I might have hatched all boys ... but hoping I might be wrong!

The one on the far right looks to have thicker legs, so I am thinking male. The other two look to have skinnier legs. Would you agree since you can see them in person? It could just be the angle of the shot though?
I am no pro - just my observations.

They all look “thickish” in the legs to me. But the one that is nearly solid dark color with just part of a ring around its neck was honestly about 2/3 of the size of the other two until about a couple of weeks ago, when it suddenly caught up and had leg and foot growth like crazy. But, none of them seem to have substantially smaller legs. The one that just shot up to the size of the others hatched a day and a half later than the other two and required assistance in completing hatching.

Thanks for your input! I surely appreciate it. :)

Mine were all siblings, so it was really easy to tell. They were also sexed from the person I got them from. But, there was a noticeble difference between my drake and the duck hens.
I am sure others will chime in soon with more experience. :frow

I'm on the fence, most sexual differences become more apparent after 4 weeks, so you may have to wait just a few more weeks. I'm leaning male on the white, but I can't be definite about any currently. I only breed occasionally so it's been a bit since I last had to figure it out.

Thank you! I'll keep everyone posted as they continue to mature.
