Aren't they precious! They make my babies look like brutes! lol

Here are the latest 5 that hatched (they hatched on thursday, it's Willow's first time being a Mamma and she's doing a fabulous job of it)

does this water make me look fat?

when Willow (she's the one at the back) introduced the babies to their Daddy, Aunts and cousins

cuteness overload

swimming with one of their cousins (I haven't named her yet)

taking a walk with Mamma (Willow)

I also have two Scovey Gals that have just reached laying age, oh and my Pekin Gal Scrappy is on a nest of Pekin/Scovey cross eggs that are due to hatch any day (I have NOT told my husband yet about those eggs..hes gonna have a stroke LOL)

Michelle

Adorable! so utterly cute! they grow real fast too! I have 9 that are beyond big now.. but they are still are ridiculously cute lol

We had a sad day yesterday, Our gander accidently stepped on the one duckling and killed it,
hit.gif
So he is in a separate part of the yard of the yard with the duckling he is raising along with ducklings mama. He has been so gentle with these ducklings, so I know it was an accident. Just heart breaking though. Quackers we need to see pics of your babies.

Again that is just so sad. I feel bad for all of you.

and yes, i know... i've spent the last 2wks coop building as the chickens are huge now and need their home.. so i have had little time to do pictures.

Ok here is a shot of Lilly and some of the brood of nine.. they are all free ranging during the day.. pretty funny to watch actually... i have another shot i'll try and put up of them in the pool, most of them adore to swim/dive. Got up the second, i have more but i'll put them up another time.. they are all coloured birds... which is great!

Eta; forgot they turned a month old.. July 12/13th, these pics are new from the past week.

Thank you! Actually though, if you recall this was Lilacs nest lol she's a blue & white... Lilly stole her nest.. which turned out for the best as Lilac is not a good mother.. and as for drakes.. 1 is black capped white and the two others are black barred so colour abounds. I do like the white birds just i have 2 fully white ducks already and then the almost white dusty.. she has some colour on her wings/tail and finally spot the black capped drake... i'd like some colour... you know just in case i can't rehome them ... ha!

I need to get some new pictures of my two little scovies... Who aren't very little anymore lol. They are starting to get their feathers in (yay!) and one of them is getting the black with green coloring. I need to take some new pictures when I get home :)

They will be 6 weeks old on Friday... how old should they be before I can tell if they are male or female? And what do I look for?

By about 5-6wks you should be able to have a pretty good idea, drakes are big.. overall, feet, legs etc... the ducks are smaller in every way... post pics! that will help too lol
