There is for today to cold to be thinking about fighting.Time out seems to work wonders for birds. lol Hope there is peace in your yard today.
I'm horrible at telling size from the perspective that you get from pics. The black looks big. You will be able to tell by size. The females will be about 1/2 the size of the males. The white looks big but that could be perspective. The chocolate just looks like a girl to me. The blue, looks big too. But again, perspective.
So the white and the black splash are my ducklings from last Summer. I was told that they were females, but I'm positive the splash is a drake. What about the white, though? The blue fawn(?) and Choc are ducksThe ducklings have bigger feet and thicker legs... I think we'll be eating them =/ Dangit.
Another week has passed and the ducklings have grown. Little fuzzball has become stronger and has gained weight, but is still smaller and also keeps his round shape while the others have noticeably stretched. I suspect that it spine may be deformed because it looks a little hunchbacked to me.
Mother duck is still displeased with visitors, but when I offer food and water and stop moving, she and her offspring stay near me without being bothered by me. So I could take some close-up pictures![]()

It's all goodWe're going to eat the black, but I'm sad about the white because he's really tame (they're both their dad's size). *Sigh* They waited until I fed them 20% feed all winter to fill out >.<
Thanks! I never thought much of white ducks before. But between the blue eyes and the carnucles to contrast the white, I find white muscovies to be quite striking.
