Muscovy keepers share your pics!

I have a hen who just started laying..she has about 6 eggs in a nest, do first time layers normaly go broody?I havnt seen her sit on the nest or anything...
if Muscovy yes, but she'll have to build her clutch first and 6 eggs most likely isn't enough. lol if you don't want her to sit take the eggs.

Yes shes a muscovy..I would love her to sit on them.im just worried the eggs will go bad
That's always a possibility in the heat we all have had recently, what I do is when they are out of the nest I take a washable maker and number the eggs so when they finally begin to brood I can take out the first ones laid and leave the freshest. you might not get as large a hatch but at least you won't have to worry as much about an egg rotting and exploding in the nest and contaminating the other eggs.

Most of my babies are chocolate or lilac.I have one thats a really dark gray like a very dark storm cloud. I hope will be a duck but will keep even if its a drake.I am thinking drake. A few are a very light baige nearly all white. One is all white except he has chocolate barring on his chest with a pink bill and feet. wish he was a girl to. All my black ones are drakes. Out of 31 babies i think only 6 are drakes maybe 7. Its hard for me to tell with different ages plus this is my first year raising baby muscovys. But i love it!!!

Normaly they will lay about 15 eggs, then they go sit on them. So your duck is not there yet. But every duck is different :)
Here are some more pics of my ducks.. I hope to be a proud owner of a blue duck next year, but i`m still surching..!
