Muscovy keepers share your pics!

My Muscovies finally laid their first egg of this year today. I have 6 ducks and 1 drake.
This is a photo of it compared with one of my light sussex's eggs
Nice size egg, and good to see you back joelharris.

this is my only girl ducky, her name is daisy. she is sitting on her first eggies, she has 16 of them! they will hatch in 18 days or less!

this is napoleon (nappy for short) he is super-sweet little boy and let's me hug him all the time! he is mentally retarded though. he let's anyone pet him, even strangers so I have to protect him 24/7. he hates the water, so I took a picture when he got in because it's a rare occasion when nappy goes swimming in our pond! I throw floating waterfowl food in the water and he eats it with the fishies!

I also have 1 other boy duckie but I don't have a recent photo of him.
I love that pic of your duck Daisy you should keep that in mind for future avatar.

I really like this brown female. She was just added to the group and I have put her into a breeding pen with another brown male and female. I'd show you pictures of those but I took pics of them with the camera and the computer doesn't want to read the card. These were taken with my tablet which automatically loads into dropbox. Ah, technology...

The Black and white male and the white female can't get enough of each other. This pic was taken a couple of days ago before I moved everyone into breeding pens. I actually have much better pics of them on the camera (of course!). I put them into their own pen today and gave them some eggs in the nest. I am really hoping the white girl will go broody.
Beautiful Scovy's

I live in mississippi it's super humid and that's another factor
Hey Buck. Where in MS are you? I'm just south of Memphis in Desoto County. You must be way south because it is not hot and humid here yet. My muscovy is broody and sitting on a bunch of eggs. We have 6 - 12 days to go depending on what actually hatches. My other females are domestics and have not gone broody but are laying everyday so she has some of hers and some of the others.

That would be great since I only have the one Muscovy. I saw a craiglist ad from a guy over in Arkansas that had lavender muscovies and was selling some of the ducklings. I would love to get a few of those. But, I'm a MS wildlife rehabilitator and I limit myself to waterfowl and songbirds. I never know what how many birds I will get from day to day so I have to be careful that I don't overdue it. That is how I got my Smooshie! I grew up in FL where muscovies are all over the place and are considered a nuisance. I could not stand them. That was 17 years ago and within the last 3 years of me getting to love geese (especially Canada) and ducks, I still could not understand why anyone would want a muscovy as a pet. Then smooshie came into my life! She is the most personable duck I've ever had, and as a duckling, so quiet and calm even when she was by herself. This is her pic from last year when she was first given to me.
