Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Do you have an incubator? If so, I could send you some eggs and maybe you could hatch your own chocolate drake?

-Kathy

Can you guarantee that they would be drakes?

We've been trying for chocolate here, too, but only have a few chocolate and white hens and no chocolate drakes, so we get very few of the chocolate coloring from our flock of mostly black and white pieds.

Quote: For years all I ever produced were black and whites and chocolate and white *hens*, but last year I started to get chocolate drakes and I'm up to 8 or nine now, I think. I know you're joking, but if I stuck my chocolate drakes with my chocolate hens then one could expect 50% chocolate drakes, right?

Here is an egg I found pipped yesterday. It hadn't made any progress in 24 hours, so I helped.

Note foot over head. Many cannot zip like this.

From here it just popped out.

A little redder than I like, so I applied some chlorhexidine.

Yep was joking about the guarantee, but super stoked that you are hatching chocolates. I'm tempted to order some eggs from you as I have a couple of incubators and about 10 broody birds right now. I think I'd have a good chance at getting at least one boy!

Kathy do you take trade in?? all my drakes are black pied and would love a chococlate drake but can't keep any more drakes here at the moment so would have to be a trade...Of course I am just kidding,

I did lose my only chocolate duck to an egg breaking inside about a month an a half ago,, so very sad.
