Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Hi all.
A completely unrelated topic but I thought someone might be able to shed some light.
A friend of mine brought chooks from a less than reputable breeder about two months ago. She had one who's face went purple a few days ago and has now died.
They aren't laying and she isn't sure how old they are. When she contacted the breeder he blamed her and couldn't/wouldn't offer any advice.
Any ideas what this might have been?
They are her children's pets and she is worried it will happen to the others. I sold her a drake and hen that live with her chooks so naturally I don't want to see them sick too.

My old rooster died with a very purple comb. But he had had heart issues for a long time. Last winter I had to bring him in some bitter winter nights and let him warm up. Then last most decent winter and cold spring he passed.

So it could have been heart related?
Would the purple colouring indicate a lack of oxygen flow or am I thinking too literally?
TherryChicken, what type of infection would cause such a dramatic death do you think?
Sorry for all of the questions. This girl is just beside herself and fairly so.

You aren't thinking too literally, lack of oxygen would cause it to turn purple, but there can be so many causes.
