I forgot to take a picture but it looks as though i have two males an two females..hopefully that will be ok LOL. Muscovy have been a blast so far they are very friendly an curious about anything we do outside...an we didnt really handle them much so we expected them to be a bit wild. - but they aren't unlike the rest of my flock. Has anyone else seen the snubbing of the other flock by the scovies? LOL my original flock is shunned by them like they arent good enough haha except for the two runner babies they took in - i got them a little late so the scovies were a month ahead but boy they sure take good care of them

Thank you wildwestchick. Goingquackers, most of the time you can tell by size, but I have 2 5 month old females that are as big as my drake o.o

@GoingQuackers I found with my muscovies that even at a very young age the girls followed the drake around. They were not all smaller than him and one girls legs were as thick as his until they feathered in but all of the gals had smaller feet and behaved/walked etc much more delicately than the drake. He was a clumsy dude from day 1.
Having said all of that, I only had 1 drake and the other three were girls. Had there been another drake that behaviour may have been different possibly too.

Well i have been told i have large drakes but i have never had a female be the same size.. my drakes are always obvious ... and no my females didn't follow drakes.. if anything around here the ducks rule lol the drake toddle along with them trying to keep up .. my girls are all full flight too.

So like the sand works great, the ground is a lot cleaner an whenever it rains the waste flows down and out the irrigation system I dug in there so extra water would flow out, the only real problem is that it stinks so bad, apparently the sand let's go of the waste particles but keeps the smell , but it's still not as bad as it was and it's a lot cleaner and next time I plan to get more natural sand like I'm going I the beach at the end of July and i go to perdido key and it's sand is really white and clean with little waste an harmful particles so I'm going to get some sand from there and see how it works out

Well finally culled the two main trouble maker drakes. Rest of drakes happier, but hens running all over now. odd how my scovy went in pairs preferably instead of harrams. well the six to maybe eight females (to traded for ones in separate pen both brooding now), will have to be ok with just Ferdinand, and maybe ranger to teach young to forage better for now (he is big rat eater even though small drake as prefers to just go off feeding of land).

Back in December I thought ducks were so cute, loved having them and ordered 10 more for the spring.By March reality set in on the mess they can make and I rehomed my flock of 7.Well the spring order showed up today, all 10 are doing great. Never had chicks ship this well (always 1or2 that look poorly). I guess I was meant to have ducks. lol. Well off to settle them into the brooder.

Yay, I can join a Muscovy thread now this is my Muscovy Kristof next to one of are Ancona ducklings, Ana. I can't wait to see what Kristof will end up looking like. I've been looking through all these pictures to see if I can figure it out, but hard to tell what she will look like all grown.

What breed and where are the pics?

I don't have pics yet but they are Muscovy. 2 whites, 4 blue pied, and 4 chocolate/ fawn.
