I'm not sure. In most of the pics I'd say female but in the pic next to the orpington hen, the muscovy looks big. My hens aren't as tall as a large chicken, my drake is much bigger than a chicken.Okay as requested more picsand he/she is at 7 months old, but heres the thing, I have fpound some very starnge colored eggs latley, (too light for orp. too big for yokohama and well not blue) and they are very rich and its never hissed. so girl ?

I'm brand new to Muscovy and these are just backyard bred from someone local ... but they are mine! I'm pleased to introduce Miguel and Rosa! The first photo was taken in the car on the way home from picking them up. They are not hand tamed, unfortunately.
Here they are looking at me very suspiciously as they explore their new digs. My Rouen x Khakis don't know what to think of them.

It was starting to get dark by the time I snapped this shot, but they followed the ducks around to learn the ropes!

Here's an update of mine
Ducklings, 7 weeks old tomorrow. Boys (6) to the left of mom, girls (5) to the right and 2 boys way off in the background that are seperated due to feather picking. They are all black barred, some have some brown on their tail and back feathers. Gotta see what thats going to turn out like. Mom's a bit of a mess but she is a VERY good momma.
And winter broody number 2. So, this is Pink (named after the color of her leg band). She's been on the nest for about 4-5 days. I had taken a number of eggs out but I think there are 13 under her. Although today Green was heading for the chicken coop to lay her egg and I locked her in the duck coop. No new egg in there unless its under Pink.![]()

Tell me about it. We had snow a few days ago and have had a lot of overnight freezing temps. Daytime varies, it can get into the 50s. The high today will be about 36F but we're in the mountains and usually have a wind chill 5-10 degees lower. I have no idea what they are thinking. LOLLooking great! i cannot believe you have another broody, don't you have winter?? lol Mind you i had 3 eggs today...
They are precious..Went through all 355 pages and I decided to get a few duckies. I loved all of the pictures of the beautiful scovies. I got 3 blue and white Muscovies, a Khaki Campbell and 2 Pekins. They are all unsexed so I'm hoping for at least 2 females
. I'm totally new to ducks so I wanted to start small![]()
