Absolutely not. They are the anti-Pekin if the last month of me having muscovies and pekins both in the bathroom have anything to say about it. The Pekins made their way outside two days ago. I still have both the babies and an adult muscovy in the house.

I have muscavoy but today saw some Rouen duck for sale. I was wondering if anyone had any info for me on Rouen ducks and would they do well with muscavoy ?

We have both, but our field Rouens are crazy. They get along with the muscovies, but since they were not raised together, they mostly just occupy the same yard cordially. The rouens are much louder and are not nearly as mild and friendly. I have two females and I call them the "Rouen mafia" as they like to run around telling on everybody, generally being loud and somewhat anti-social with people. The only time a muscovy acts anywhere near like that is when a broody hen comes off her nest to grab some food, and even then I usually only get one pip out of the muscovy and she's even more relatively friendly than a Rouen. We decided not to get any more Rouens. It's not the breed for us.

That does help ! I love how super friendly and sweet my muscavoy are and quiet. So maybe that's not the breed for me lol. Thank you for your help

We have muscovy, ancona, khaki campbell, welsh harlequin, cayuga, rouen, and just got some pekins. The rouens are by far the noisiest of all the ducks we have. So if you're looking for quiet and friendly, I'd steer clear of them. They're not mean, just crazy and loud.

I haven`t been here for a while. But that`s a good thing, because now i have got some new pics to show!
My little rescue duckling has become a handsome and sweet guy...



My girls are broody and in the mean time the guys are best frends...

My youngest boy is very playfull and curious


Sweetest guy Donnie tells him how to behave....


Very busy at the duck-house...


My broody girl coming and going for a quick bite...


Here she goes to her nest...




And one of my other girls sitting on eggs, not fertile though...



And then there`s a duck sitting on eggs far from here, but one of her offspring will be mine. Finaly! I will get my blue duck!
