My muscovy that's not laying went broody on a dozen of eggs from my hen that is laying. Lol! Is that normal for muscovies??? I also have six eggs in the incubator. Her name is Dori and the one that is laying is Yolanda. I don't have a name for my drake yet. Any suggestions???

Yes that is very normal for muscovy ducks to get broody like that they are excellent mothers and will hatch whatever is I'm an eggs.

Ambi, It has been the worst winter here in Northern Wisconsin that i have ever seen in my 34 years. It hit a low of -55 degrees early February. You have nothing to worry about. lol... All my birds hung in there rather well. They are pretty hardy birds to say the least.

Buck Oaks, I purchased her last fall from a lady. She his one of my favorites for sure. Buff ripple i guess you would call her. She was all buff before her first molt. Then she acquired the white.. She is a looker. She is pretty small.. All three females i got from that lady are smaller. She had all different colors out of two hatches. I got a white, a black ripple and the buff from her. And all the parents were black and white pied.... SO it will be interesting to see what they have for ducklings. I have a black and white pied drake, a black drake, and a lavender drake. I may put the buff with the lavender drake in a breeding pen.
