Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Here's the subterraenian muscovy egg hiding:

I got this one out using a rake. I have no idea how far back the hole goes or if there are other eggs.

I was thinking about selling my ducklings at the farmers market. What is a fair price to ask? I was thinking $5 but was told that was way too much...

I think it's just a question of supply and demand. Are there lots of muscovys where you live? How old are they? We paid $10 for are anconas. Are Muscovy was five days old when we got her and the farm store just gave her to us! It depends on what people are willing to pay.

I just ordered some as day olds and paid 10 dollars a duck for them because we don't have many up here. I think it also depends on when the farmers market is. Up here in New England most people are looking for chicks and ducklings in the spring because later than that and they might not be big enough when the cold gets here.

$5 is cheap for any age no matter where you are. I purchased ayoung pair of blues this spring for $35 which I thought was very cheap. I was expecting to pay $60+ for the pair.

I thought I would share some of my Muscovy duck photos. I kept too many Muscovy hens and they all free-range. I made nesting boxes out of cut-down 15 gallon plastic drums and each box has been used.

That is down right adorable.
