Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Is it normal for a duck egg to be inside another egg membrane, as that is what the pic appears to me to be? Or did you take the pic because it was unusual? I don't remember this with our ducks, but I was a young child. I just have chickens now.

I don't have any ducks now, but when I was young, we had 2 or 3 large green ducks with white heads and breast. They were beautiful and laid humongous eggs. They were very quiet and tame, and did not Quack, but made little wobble-wobble noises. I thought I remembered them being called Muscovy ducks, but I was pretty young, so that might not be quite right. When I look up breed pictures, almost all the ones I see have really unexpected comb/wattle type growths on their heads and are mottled in color, and the ones in my yard did not have that. Any ideas what the breed might have been? Thanks.
They could have been a mix of Muscovy with Pekin. as far as I know Muscovy's are the only quackless ducks.

I just took it because it was interesting and someone laid it in the pool

Here is a pic of my Muscovy "mule". His colors are absolutely gorgeous. Can't get a pic that does him any justice.

Are you calling it "Mule" because it actually is one? Speculum looks very mallard-like as well as the pattern on the plumage. Hybrids between muscovy and (domestic) mallard are called moulards or hinnies, depending on which parent was the muscovy and which one the mallard.

Really pretty bird, by the way.

Hi there!!
I`ve been so busy these days that it`s hard to find time to post some pics of my ever growing flock. Though i did found out I can post some pics with my mobile as well, however, that way i can only post one pic at the time.
Well, time or no time (it`s mainly the ducklings that keep me busy...

Tadaaaaaa.......

My ducklings are fascinated by the new members of the flock....

The next day I opened the door and they fit in really well...

Off course there was some struggle, but not as much as I was afraid of.
No, they seem quit happy to me...

After long hard thinking they decided to enter the water, they were a little shocked because of all the space...

They tried to hide between the reeds...

But not long after the beast came out....:)

And they started to explore a bit...

I`m so very happy with my new girls! I feel so blessed!! Updates will follow....
