Muscovy keepers share your pics!

I think she flew off because she's gone with out a trace.
Had you clipped her wing? since we'd been talking about that on here. Maybe if she flew off she isn't far, do you have any water close by? rivers lakes ponds? maybe she'll find her way back. mine I think would have trouble since we are so wooded. If you do have a body of water close by you might try taking one of her friends to it in a secure crate and if she sees this one maybe just maybe she'd come to say hello and you can get her. I'm so sorry I know your heart broken.

I'm sorry to hear you can't find your duck.

That's why I had to put my muscovies into the totally enclosed pen. Trouble the littlest one kept flying over the 6' tall 1/2" hardware cloth pen, hopping on top of the coop to the barn roof.

I feel bad they are in a smaller enclosed area, but with winter here and her tendency to go explore...

I have a feeling the ducks might end up laying eggs under the coop. It's pretty big and safe under there. Safety first..

Truffle is now 7 months old, Trouble is much smaller and only 4.5 months old. I do want baby ducklings, but in the spring. Not yet. I don’t think I need to worry quite yet though.

No, I hadn't clipped her wings yet, but she hadn't finished molting yet either, so I wouldn't have expected her to fly away. and yes there is a big hill behind us, and there is a creek down on the other side, and also, those people have Muscovy's too. If she has gone over there, I would definitely not be able to catch her, since there's tons of brush and woods by that creek.

Well lets hope she will come home on her own. you might contact the people with Muscovys though and let them know your missing a duck so they can be on the look out for her. did she come from there?

No, she did not come from them, and I don't even know those people. The only predator that could have gotten her is a red tailed hawk, who has been getting a couple of my pullets, but I find it really hard to believe it got a duck, especially since I have a bunch of pullets that keep getting out. I will keep a look out for her, when we drive by there.
