That would be horrid if they hurt some of your smaller birds. Why can other birds be so mean? They are horrid to each other. When my finches fight feathers scatter all over the place. It's vicious so I separate them at times. More snow your way? What part of US are you in? Aren't you all sick of it? I live near mountains and we're like having spring. We need water badly. Why are you keeping the geese for your aunt?

We got five inches of snow this morning. None of the duck or chickens wanted to venture out.

We got 5 too and another 5-9" today not looking forward to this.

I think ducks/geese are pretty tame... chickens? HA they will kill each other sometimes. It's all flock dynamics that is why some believe in not mixing flocks.

That is fascinating. So if you have diverse flocks do you keep them separate by fencing? Or is it just easier to own one flock altogether?

Well the geese came to my house untill she could get rid of the dog that killed five of them :-( and she was waitinnon taxes to build then a adequate winter shelter soo. That should be soon and the dog is gone now.

that is terrible. I am sorry to hear that. I'm glad the dog is gone. And that's nice of you to keep them. They deserve safe conditions.

jarvis your Scovy's are beautiful. I love my geese but I can vouch for the fact they are bullies and run the barn yard with a iron wing. lol

I wish I could send you some sunshine! my baby muscovies enjoy their bath all day long! I expected them to be messy but they are so clean. the only mess they make is when they eat they make water dirty, but that is how they are suppose to eat. I just love them, my miguelito, silvia and carmen (I gave them spanish names because I found out their origins are from south america).

I have heard that, but I have a very diverse flock, muscovy's, many different breeds of chickens, and a couple bantams and I have almost no aggression in my flock. I added all my pullets to the flock with out having to slowly integrate them. I think It just has to do with certain birds personality's, and other factors, such as how much space they have.
