Dan i'm sorry but opossums don't usually kill adult birds, they're not fast enough and don't put up a fight, opossums are scavengers and opportunists, unless syou had a female who was on a nest 24/7 it couldn't have killed your ducks, i think that what killed ur ducks was your sisters cats or a raccoon :( and also about what i said earlier this year about ducklings and hatching eggs, i can't anymore its going to be a harsh summer.

I'm really really sorry Buck about your ducks :hugs I honestly understand how you feel I have quite a bit of hatred towards dogs because of what I've seen them do to my birds & cats sometimes I honestly hate dogs with a passion so if I start rambling on about how sucky dogs are its just because I love my flock & cats so much & I have had so many brutally murdered it breaks my heart thinking of them screaming for help & trying to get away & the one who raised them & loves them the most wasn't there to save them from the predators that are fed & just kill for the fun of it. I'm so sorry I really hope you kill the living heck out of what is hurting your flock i know its just an animal trying to survive but there is wild undomesticated animals they could be eating.Opussums can be extremely aggressive when they have young or can't find food but yes over all they aren't very savage killers like raccoons my ferret is closely related to both of them & he is the laziest animal ever but has tried to kill my giant geese even though he only weighs about 2 lbs he didn't succeed since I caught him and it was a goose but he was going for it & he tries to kill our adult Tom cats too he is fearless.

Snowed last night first Muscovy egg of the year today. YAY!

I raised my muscovies on home made started for the last 3 years. Never medicated a duckling. I have a bag of medicated starter. If I have a injured bird needing to be isolated I give medicated starter as a supplement. Medicines should in my opinion only he used in healing.
