it was so sad to have them all go, but my house is way too small to accommodate 13 ducks lol.

Mama duck is laying again tho!

I have a question tho, is there a possibility that a duck just can't hatch her eggs? I mean this is only the second time, but my other female had an unsuccessful hatch again. Threw out all 10 bad eggs

He tries but can hardly walk anymore but I see him trying to mate especially when he gets into the pool with one of his girls.

He was probably around 8 in that pic.

Never heard of it with a Muscovy but I guess it could happen did you check for fertility in your eggs?

Ive found that with muscovies if its really arid and they don't have any bathing water the eggs can dry out since the mom isn't providing a lot of humidity and if thats not the problem then yeah they could just be infertile. it all depends. You should also make sure the nest is clean, eggs have pores and if the nest has bacteria such as mud, poop, or a broken egg ( the yolk from that) then the nasty stuff can be absorbed through the pores and that can lead to bad eggs.

it looks like donuts gonna be a boy, to me that is. At a young age males tend to do their little huffing peeps, i mean it sounds just like the females at that age but males tend to do it more.

Just a fun warning to y'all, white Muscovies look so pretty... until they find mud. I'm thinking Abigail may be Cas's favorite.

Fortunately they clean up nice.
