You are right about some of it... If one is going to feed scratch to chicken chicks and/or ducklings, it should be *chick* scratch, *not* hen scratch. A little of the stuff for hens might be okay, but I could see the little ones having trouble digesting a huge amount of the larger seed. Best to feed a starter crumble to chicks and ducklings, but if one does insist on feeding scratch, be sure to supply properly sized grit, too.

First i have to admit i only made it to page 34 and i had to comment. You have such beautiful birds! I didn't realize they come in so many colors. I do have a question i seen a few comments about "white heads" is it a bad trait to be carried my a muscovy? I apologize I've only owned mine for a year and i have lots to learn.
One of my girls Choco-Lot is sharing her 17 eggs with a polish, Mama is sitting on 10, and Angel is still filling up her nest, i believe she has 7 right now. First week of June i got lots of ducklings. Questions should i lock up mamas and babies for a while or just leave them be, i dont have predator issues, also in the winter what do you have for roosts? I am in Wisconsin and last winter one of my girls got pretty serious frost bite. Thank you and sorry for all the questions. I love this thread and am learning a lot only 1300 more pages to read lol!!

well if u mean the canizie gene(whit head gene) isn't show quality, no its not show quality but its not a bad gene either, i personally love the gene. but if you don't want it it'd gonna be hard to get rid of as to it being a dominant gene

Only one duckling hatched!!! :-( 4 dead in the shell. 2 were blue and 2 were black and white. The one thats hatched is black and white also. Devastated. I so wanted one who looked like its Beautiful blue mumma. I miss her she was my fave.
