Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Mine are still growing, and last minute I decided to try hatching out some more colorful ones because, why not? I love their little mullets. Reminds me of hockey players from the 80s.

I am hoping for some duck information. from a new duck owner.
We bought 2 white ducks at tractor supply unplanned and we love them! They are about 4 months old and started laying. I believe a girl and boy; not sure. One suddenly died today and the other was laying on her screaming. So Sad. They are very affectionate. So he? is not in the chicken coop with the big birds where he has been before; a new environment from the other space. We want to get another duck for him, but not sure to mix breeds or should I get another white one and do female and male make a difference? Thanks dearly so sad.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your duck. I am guessing by white duck, you had Pekins. They are usually like 8-9 lbs. With a Pekin drake, they are quite large and can be too big for smaller females. Mixing breeds is otherwise not a problem. I have Saxony, welshies, khaki, Cayuga, Pekin, swedish, runners, Muscovy and they all get along fine.

Your biggest worry is going to be the chickens right now. Drakes have a penis which chickens are not designed for. Without a female drakes will mate chickens and can hurt or even kill chickens on accident.

I very much like this thread! I love my muscovies, they're so quiet, friendly, don't eat so much, and aren't nearly as destructive as genuine ducks.

I only have 4 females, and I have a muscovy drake question: are the drakes as hard on they girls as real duck drakes?
