Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Very nice Scovies, Duckmonk! I esp. think the chocolate DP is gorgeous. Beautiful coloring. The Black & White Pied in the background is a cutie also. Isn't she one that you had fm last year? Oh, and the White Faced Black Runner, hmmmm, yes, rare indeed.

Actually, very nice pic, John & yes, I should be nice & call you Fr. John. Now, that IS a pic of you isn't it, and not one of your Brothers? It's nice to have a face w/a name. Thanks for sharing it.

Looks like you are going to have some mighty fine Scovie ducklings next year. Do you have a pic of the drake or drakes you will be breeding those girls to?

Well, My ducks certianly are a very odd colouring, and it is taking me a while to get used to them

I personally prefer the looks of the pieds myself.

We have 2 hens & 2 drakes.

It is so hard to get decent pics of them when they are in one of their lazy moods!

Anyway, heres some updated pics I took a couple of mins ago......

cheekychick, those are going to be some nice blues.

I think the juvenile feathering may be throwing you off. My blues have that brown tone on their necks and chest also. A lot of that may disappear with their molt into adult feathering. Their heads and neck will darken up probably to a deeper bluish black. Yours have some nice white on their tummies plus it looks like you may have white head (flush of white on seen on cheeks and near eyes) which will give them all a much more pied look. I think you are going to be pleasantly surprised at how pretty they are going to look in their adult plummage.

I will be looking forward to seeing their future pics.

I hope that is the case with the colouring! I have never really taken much notice what the time length is between moults. When do you think they will moult again, approximately?

OOOhhh I love the bird in the first pic. He is gorgeous! I also like his caruncles - half red half black.

The rest of your birds are very pretty too!

He is a real gentleman.. He will take the girls to the pond and then patiently wait for them to get done and ready, then he leads them to the barn..He's a big sweetheart;)
