Now they are outside (8 weeks old) and are very nearly ducks, instead of ducklings!

And here is the new pen:

I'm about 95% sure that there are three drakes and three hens. One blue hen, all the drakes are pied, but I'm not sure if they are all going to be black or if a couple will be chocolate.

madar86, are you saying a mink killed 9 of your Scovy ducklings?

So sorry for your loss if that is the case.

I lost my favorite Scovy hen, Charlotte, along w/my sweet Call drake, Jack, and two of my best chooks to a poss. mink attack last month.

I have one adult hen and her 9 ducklings. ANd I think i only have MAYBE 3 girls out of the bunch

Had two hens and four drakes dissappear in a weeks time a few months ago

they free range but never left the area between my yard and the neighbors with the pond, something didnt feel right about it. Havent seen them since.


And Im so sorry about that little vermin!!! Ive been having a problem with cats coming and eating my eggs

I'm wondering if something is wrong with my 2 4 week? old girls. They will walk around for a few min. then lay down they lay down alot. They eat drink poop and play in the water fine. They are eating waterfowl starter. I'm worried if the have week legs. They walked around the living room tonight walked about 12inches than laid down. They aren't falling down. Are they just lazy?

Muscovies can be pretty lazy ducks. I know that my male ducklings are Much less active than my females, the boys like to plop down a lot, even if they're just eating or drinking real quick, they will still plop down then jump right up a second later to waddle back out to the yard. I wouldn't worry about them unless you see some obvious signs of weakness in their legs, like shaking/wobbly knees or if they act like they're painful.
