Muscovy keepers share your pics!

if muscovy eggs dont hatch when will mom get off the eggs?
How long has she been sitting, if mine haven't hatched after day 36 I'll try to candle. Also pick the egg up and listen you may here peeping or chipping if they have internally pipped. And if no good you may hear sloshing of liquid. You don't want to shake the egg in case theres a live duckling just kinda turn it gently.

I love the duckies swimming around the dinosaurs, oh so SQUEEEE!!

My pop was having a beer on the porch & Daisy was sitting on his lap. She decided that a cold beer was tastier than a cup of water...I can't argue with her on that!

Was she able to drive home after? lol the other night I was sitting on the patio having a glass of wine feeding the ducks their little bit of w./w bread they get, and a piece fell into my wine glass, needless to say my drake at the soaked bread and was none the worse for it. Course he may have slept better that night.

I was the DD that night! Silly duck is a light weight.

My dad was laughing at her & said that's how you marinate a duck from the inside. He then commented that he needed to feed chickens some beer. I told him if he did that for a few turkeys he can sell them come Turkey Day. Then the talk went into getting the stuffing into them before processing & it went weird after that, hahah!

I'm sure your boy slept very well, Miss Lydia! Did he do that thing Daisy does when she tastes something for the first time? The fast tongue smacking tasty face? Almost reminds me of when a dog gets peanut butter.

Yes he did, isn't it funny. I read in Countryside magazine a few years ago that this person was saying if you need to do anything with you chicken/ducks etc feed them mash mixed with vodka then you can pick them up easily, only problem what do you do with them the next morning when they are have a hang over? I would never on purpose feed my animals alcohol laced food I just wait till they go to roost or in their house and catch them. We have enough alcoholics in our country.

Picturing a hung over duck...Do they walk straight?

My tiny chihuahua likes to eat everything off the ground so I have to watch him very carefully. About a month ago we went to the park & he happened to Hoover up a doobie. He's only about 2 1/2lbs so it didn't take much for him to get high. I didn't know what was wrong with him when we got home until he started to shake & fall down a lot. I rushed him to the vet & she actually ran a drug urine test on him & he tested positive for weed! It scared me so much,I can't imagine doing something like that to an animal on purpose even with just vodka.
