Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Oh my gosh, fighting, sounds like my chicken mamas, I sure hope some ducklings appear after all ya'll have gone through. 2 of Alices eggs were getting dark on the outside of the shell so I got those out because i was afraid they would blow in the nest. and Dusty broody again? wow I know what you mean about the excitment dwindling, Okay lets get this one over with Alice and let it be over for this year already.. I am worn out form just the stress of it all. Keeping my fingers crossed for ya, and waiting to hear about my gosling that should be arriving Thurs or friday.

I know crazy, eh? It was like c'mon really ladies? I can't believe dusty, what the heck? no way in heck am i letting her sit a nest again.. i want these other eggs hatched and then i am done.done.done.

If i can't get the ducks i need this way i'll have to find some on my own, that should be fun..

The stress is killing the joy.

Just had to show some updated photos of my ducklings. The three light colored ones are the ones I have been keeping to find out the color.

The middle duckling is white with blue eyes and a couple of black spots on its head. The one behind it, I am not sure of its color.
Maybe silver? I think they are both boys.

I think the two blue pied are girls. The other one I think is a boy and still not sure of the color.

Lovely, lovely colour! i need to add some like that lol My only baby is starting to feather pretty good(5wks fri) at least it has colour.. most of my birds are white or white with a sprinkle of colour.

Well it may make her want to cry UNCLE! Alice hatched the gander we have now, so a large gosling under her should feel like old times except it's been 5 years.

They must be so confused how big and fast the goslings grow vs the ducks! Sounds so exciting, i do hope it does well.

Oh,I know some are!

That's why I was wondering if it's wild ones or ones that are just left to breed for meat that come up with an ugly look. The hunter said he'd never seen a Muscovy that looked like her so I figured maybe wild ones because they aren't selectively bred for looks?

To me show quality Muscovies are the ones that are grotesque they have Carnicles that cover their eyes just about, thats not normal. and sorry if I offend anyone who shows their Muscovies but Muscovies in the wild don't look like that.

As soon as lake melted across the street my 2 remaining ducks after a horrible winter flew the coop. They come.back to visit once.in a blue moon but spend days on.end.in the.lake across the way. Any ideas how to corral them before they.start.an invasive species in new England?

See, that's not what I think of when I think show quality anything. I like to think of this as show quality;

Of course this duck is not mine and I think that's an unreasonable amount of exposed skin anyhow. When I get mine I actually want them to have less, not more because I live up north and it can be prone to frostbite.
