One by one, around 7:20, my ducks start to meander towards their pen... I let them be, as I am working on a project for the Silkie pen. 7:45 comes rolling around and I walk over to the pen. "One, two, three, four.... COCOAAAA WHERE ARE YOUUUU??" I enlist my moms help and we roam the property for about 10 minutes before I realize... "I didnt check in the dog house..." So I run over to the duck pen and walk in, with the assistance of Cheese, my ever-nosy, ever-in my way drake LOL. I bend down and look in the dog house, and this is what I see:

 :love
This is the first time I have ever heard her make noise. She opens her mouth to beg (she imitates Apollo) and opens her mouth with a disgusted look if she doesnt like something. She was peeping at me the whole time I sat there looking at her. This means that both my Scovy hens are exhibiting pre-broody behavior. None of them go in the dog house if they arent about to lay an egg or running away from my mentally special Guineas ;)

So exciting!!

originally that box with the ramp was in the water and she laid all the eggs in it at that point....a couple weeks ago while she was still incubating we had a hurricane so we pulled the dock out to avoid it getting flooded and there it stayed for another week or so....then she had the babies....i haven't seen her use the box again since they hatched....we have a few other nesting spots lower to the ground that she is using now for them....

Both my girls have been sitting on eggs today. Poopsie sat on them this morning while Cocoa ran around all puffy and peeping. Now Cocoa is on them and Poopsie is acting like nothing ever happened. But while they were each on the nest, they were very aggravated at me watching them, ruffling up their feathers, peeping , hunching down over the eggs (they have 7 in there now). They are so cute!!

i wish you could get a video of cocoa been broody
I was bored and looking for something to do.. So I took three videos. One of Cocoa on her nest, one of all my ducks(except cocoa of course) and one of my other broody hen. Apollo is in every single video and covers up all the sound that my Serama hen made in the third vid. He is just SOOO nosy LOL Ill post them in a little bit as soon as I can upload them off my phone.
