I hatched out three Mules in May. Two Drakes and one Hen. I kept the Hen and rehomed the Drakes. They were all huge!!! I had a Rouen Hen and a Huge Muscovy Drake mate. The male was over 15 pounds and he also has been rehomed. Two of the eggs were incubated in a cheap incubator that took 35 days to hatch. The other one was under a Mallard Duck and once her babies hatched out she abandoned it. I brought it in and used a lightbulb in a styrofoam cooler with a cup of water and a temperature gage in it. It took another week and could not get out of its shell so I peeled it out after making a hole in the egg so that it could breathe. It was all sticky and gooey so I washed it off, put in under a lightbulb in an aquarium until it was bigger, then it a tote, then with the other two that had hatched out. They were soooo pretty. First with their Rouen looking heads, then the bodies turned a real pretty lavender. Then a Gray barred body with a Rouen head. That is how my one named Lucky looks to this day. I know this is an old post, I just wanted to share about my mules. Hopefully she will lay eggs. Some sites say they can and some say they cannot. I eat the eggs. I know they will be sterile but I don't care about that.
