I hatched these 2 ducklings earlier this year, idk if they are pure muscovy or hybrids. I hatched 2 hybrids last year and they looked the same as these ones did when they were ducklings but now these 2 have started to develop their caruncle and they already have more than the hybrid drake from last year has now.
here they are at 2 days old on May 21st
Here 1 is from June 26th
Here they are from today
They both still have a lot of growing to do so I will post updated pictures in a few weeks or months whenever I come back on next.
For possible parent birds I only had white muscovies and chocolate muscovies at the time, only drake was white. I also had a pekin drake, buff drake, rouen hen, and a rouen pekin cross hen. And then I had the 2 hybrids from last year, one was a hen so she definitely can't produce anything but the other was a drake. I remember reading some thread this spring and was told that drakes from a Mallard derived duck drake crossed to a muscovy hen have a small chance to be fertile so that's a possibility too.
