Muscovy question

Sorry to hear about your eggs not being fertilized. My Mack is sitting on her first batch of eggs and I’m thinking the same thing is going to happen.
wondering if I can candle them soon and pull a switcharoo on her if they aren’t fertilized.
I’m not sure about your mulard breeding with the drake, but from what I was reading last year I think you’ll get babies but they will be sterile. (But not sure)
The eggs were fertile, 3 days before they were going to hatch they were moving probably she got of the eggs in the last momment and they got cold and die

🥺 awe that’s sad .
did you candle yours? I haven’t candled mine yet. Mack only gets off between 5 and 6 in the evening and it’s not dark out so I’m not sure how I’m going to do that.

When I candle sometimes I do it when my mama is out eating if I don’t catch her out I just slip my hand under and pull out an egg if you have a strong led flash light you can see with out being in a darkened room. She might get upset but they get over it.

I’ll try that thank you... I’m getting good at my chicken eggs, but typically when would you first candle Muscovy eggs?
