Mushy Eggs?

Why are my hard boiled eggs pastey? It's not how I'm cooking them. My chickens are 10 months old to 2.5 years old. I'm feeding a 21% protein layer feed, and nothing really for snacks. When they are hard boiled the whites are just like paste, it's weird. Any ideas?

How fresh are the eggs?
Any chance the eggs froze before you collected them?

We’ve had a cold & wet snap in Nevada. Although LV is much farther south (and warmer) than Caliente I would think the temperatures have something to do with it. Eggs are mostly water so check that your girls are getting enough (un-frozen)

Any chance the eggs froze before you collected them?

I just had that thought, maybe they got too cold. I always collect eggs every evening. The eggs would never freeze, but they could be 35-40 degrees.

Never heard of this...what brand?
Might be too much protein.
Is this an all of sudden thing or......?

I'm feeding a layer pellet from Nutrena, Naturewise. I was feeding the regular 16% protein and had the same issue. Seems like it's a winter time issue. I'm collecting eggs today as they get laid to see if it isn't a temperature issue.

I have read that super fresh eggs don't hard boil very well. Dunno why, but aging them a bit helps.
