music and egg production?

Mine like to rock out, but then of course they don't have much of a choice.

They particularly enjoy when I take an acoustic guitar outside in warm weather and play for them. But they're not spoiled. Really.

LOL! And I thought I was crazy! I take my acoustic out and play for our flock too. They all come over to the fence and coo and make other funny noises. I figured that they might like it since our parrots love it too. By the way, the music that gets played in their coop is country.Their favorite song seems to be "Chicked Fried" by the Zac Brown Band of all things.

I heard of a study that plants are much healthier and grow more quickly when played classical music. I have heard if you talk to your plants they do better too. But I can't bring myself to talk to my plants

Everytime I leave my babies in their brooder for a good amount of time, I play them classical music to help them relax

I know for a fact that happy hens lay more. All of our chickens are suppossed to lay only about 2-4 a week and they have all laid everyday (sometimes one will take an occasional break for a day.) Once our EE gave us two in one day! I am not joking, it could have only been her because she is the only EE that is old enough to be laying. The rest are only 3 1/2 months. We got breeds that are only supposed to lay a few a week so that is why we have fourteen. Today I was thinking about figuring out how many eggs we would get if all the girls lay one a day
