First my Delaware hen went broody but she quickly left the nest after I took the eggs. She is a piggy and would rather eat anyway. Now my Buttercup has gone broody and has been sitting on a dummy egg for 2 days, She gets all puffed up and complains when we take the eggs. I am worried she will starve.I would love to try to have her hatch some fertile eggs but am not in a position to do that now. I really don't want to resort to the cold bath. My small flock is let out each day in the yard and locked up in the coop at night. She won't even roost with the others. What should I do? Wait a few days? I don't want to lose another hen, my favorite easter egger molly had a sudden heart attack and died a few weeks ago.
