Jake smiled,glad that his girls were getting along.He whinnied again,telling the other stallions to stay away,and invting mares in. He sighed and lay down. "Stay up as long as you want." he said to Tempest.

Flame flicked her tail and came to a stop. She heald her head high,showing off.

Tempest looked at him. "One of us has to be awake at all times, lest something get the jump on us. I take it you're gonna keep watch first?"

Tempest looked at him. "One of us has to be awake at all times, lest something get the jump on us. I take it you're gonna keep watch first?"

Miri gave a hesitant nicker, before stepping out from behind the tree. She took in the scent of these two horses. Stallion and mare. She chewed in thought before coming a bit closer.

Jake nickered loudly to her,then fell asleep.

Caleb was sniffing the ground,tracking somthing. He smelled a stallion and two mares! He trotted towrds the smell. He saw a bay stud. His ears instinctivly went back and he bared his teeth. His big feathered legs pawed at the ground. He was a draft,and bigger than the bay stallion. He whinnied a challange.

Jake nickered loudly to her,then fell asleep.

Caleb was sniffing the ground,tracking somthing. He smelled a stallion and two mares! He trotted towrds the smell. He saw a bay stud. His ears instinctivly went back and he bared his teeth. His big feathered legs pawed at the ground. He was a draft,and bigger than the bay stallion. He whinnied a challange.

Tempest flicked her ears and dozed lightly, remaining awake enough to know if something approached.

Whether Caleb was bigger than him or not was moot; Wildfire would not back down from a challenge. He'd found these two mares first! Answering Caleb's challenging whinny with his own, he charged.

Wildfire did do something. As he approached the other stud, he whirled around, kicking out with both hind feet. He was smaller, but his momentum helped. He landed a kick in Caleb's chest. Returning to all-fours, he kicked out again, screaming.

Tempest was half-asleep when she heard Jake waking. She approached and gave him a grateful nudge then settled down to sleep the deep REM sleep.
