Hi! My name is Melody and I'm a pullet. I'm 15-weeks-old and I do have my big girl feathers. Probably because I've been outside more than a month (although that treat-lady does give me two heat lights). I'm a Silkie mix/Bantam Cochin mix.

My Aunt adopted me and I think she's a great at taking care of me. I'm told my real Mom was soooo nice and everyone really misses her. I love my Dad too. Even when I was little I got to see him lots. He got in a fight with another boy so he spent some time with Auntie and me in the watermelon box in the people-house. I have my Mom's smooth feathers, although not the color. She was a black Bantam Cochin. Everything else seems to be from Dad who is a splash Silkie mix. Here is a picture of my parents from before I was born:

I really like all the pictures of the other chicken mutts. They're all so beautiful and handsome. I make the treat-lady laugh with my funny hairdo, so she said I should enter since I might make some people smile. I felt a little shy though and wouldn't get off her hand when she took the pictures. This is my little pet bantam pullet, Cleopatra. She is about 9 months old now and is 3/4 mille fleur d'Uccle and 1/4 black silkie. She is a very sweet natured little girl and is always ready to be picked up. I have had to fight to retain her as my pet as my kids adore her too!
