I have 2 silked chickens that I got at an amish auction in Nov. I was wondering if i were to breed them, would I get silked chicks? Or, becuase they are mutts, I wouldn't be able to tell before they hatch

would they be sexlinked becuase the hen is barred?

I literally just said "that's intense" you wouldn't have pure silkie chicks, but i think the offspring would be silkied, you should totally use those to make silkied Barred rocks! Are the Bantam or LF?

They both have five toes too!
At first I didn't want to keep the roo, but know I want to see if I can get some little fuzzys!!

Im sorry i keep going on about the darn silkied LF, but do you know how epic barred rock LF would be? of course it would take some time but you are closer to it then anyone else is.

I acually didn't even get these chickens, I got these two..Phoenix and Butterbean(DorkingX)

My Uncle got them, but I took care of them, and when it was time for me to come home, he said I could have them!!

Yep, Silkie feathering is recessive so since both parents are Silkied, all of their chicks will be too. I'm planning on making some kind of LF Silkied something.
