I got tired of seeing my buttons take a bath in the food dish and came up with this bright idea to prevent it!!!

step one... find cheap tossaway container (free is best like the butter tubs) Get out your favorite tool (DREMEL).

put this type attachment into the dremel

Step two: cut holes only big enuff for the button head to fit in!!!

step 3: cut hole in top to put food into the feeder with!

I went out and gave it to them... I needed to run back in the house to get something and when I came back out those little stinkers were in the flippin BOWL!! they climned in the top hole... so I added a cardbord flap thingy that I just taped on..... it works GREAT!!!! I will give them a little box to climb into to dust bathe next!!! I was thinking that I could do the same thing only make the hole bigger so they can climb in the top, bath, and the sand will stay in the "bowl!!! Whatcha think guys?

awesome!! Im getting some quail and I've heard the horror stories of wasted food. How about just using a lid on top? and open it to fill the container? Im definitely going to try something like this. Thanks for posting!

I guess you could do that but I did all the 10 conainters I got with holes in the top!! (note to self dont do all till you work out the quirks!!!!) and the coturnix I have wont fit in the hole on top its just those pesky little buttons!!!

Oh and I think why I decided to do this liek this was because I want to make some button baby waterers with this set up (like some one else had on here) and I thought that it would be more stable this way! less likely to rock over
