My 10 week old is GASPING!!She is looking better!!! *New pics*

scratch really has no nutritional value, you may want to cut that out of her diet for now. i gave mine parakeet grit, is a fine sand, make sure she has access to that since you are giving something other than starter. i had my millie on the booster recipe for about 2 weeks, spoiled her a little, when i switched back she sulked for 3 days.

Hi there, Even in her not feeling good state she is pretty. The only advice I have for you is contact Sammi. This person is a registered user on this forum; seems to know a lot about poultry illness. Do an Author search in the search field when you find a submission by Sammi you can PM them. Private message. They will respond.

try and cut way back on scratch and treats..
she really needs the chick/starter feed..make sure it's fresh..

do you have chick vitamins?

follow dlh's suggestions...

the recipe that jenni posted can also help.

the grit you're using..is it granite grit for chicks?
or is it oyster shell?

GRIT is sometimes called "Chick Grit",
tho there are other grit products you can use, such as for caged birds and pigeons..the pigeon grit is usually red..

I will stop giving her scratch. How long should I stop this?

Are greens considered treats?

Do they have special POLYVISOL for chicks or is it just the human kind?

The grit I have is red, but I think it may have some oyster shell in it, is this alright for

She really like the recipe Jennie has given me, Can I just feed her that until she is a little bigger?

Sorry for all the questions, I am just a newbie, lol. Thanks for all the advice!

i put my starter in the food processor to make it smaller and added that to the booster recipe, kind of tricks them into eating it. you can gradually add more to it as she eats better. the poly vi sol w/o iron are for people, they smell really bad but they help. i would stop the scratch for at least a week or 2, greens are a treat but okay as long as she doesn't fill up on them. healthy treats are fine in moderation. the person who gave me the recipe said it won't hurt to keep them on it, just mixing a little of it into their crumble. it's turned into one of her favorite treats.

She looks better since I started her on the crumble recipe!! Just wanted to share an up to date pic!
