I didn't notice anything last night, so I'm guessing it happened in the past 15hrs or so. It looks pretty clean. Everyone ran out of the coop today just fine, but when I was cleaning it i noticed she slipped back in and hid in a corner. I have 1 BR turkey, 2 bantams and an Aust that are older, and then 7 chicks at 12 wks. She has always been the one the chicks peck at, pulling her beard feathers out. Those are also gone again but were fine last night. Her eye is a little swollen, lots of clean liquid dripping from it. I can't tell if the eye is injured or not.

How should I clean and treat her eye?
Do I need to seperate her from the flock?
Should I give her vitamins?

Thanks,

I have Faverolle chickens too, I just love them. The same thing happened to one of my chicks too. All I did was put her in a box for a day, and one other night. I gave her food and water, I also put her under the heat lamp, she was only a week old then. After the day in the box, I let her out to run around in the apple bin with the other chicks, her eye was open but still had liquid dropping from it. So I put her back in the box over night, and the next morning, it was fine. It was still red around the eye, but that was gone in a few days.

Thank you!! I jsut checked on her, and it looks a little better already. I left her in the coop and the others are out in the corral. She has food and water, but poor dear is obviously a bit shaken up. I hope it heals as fast as yours!

I have two Faverolles, they crack me up. This one, Rougnut, is the sweetest thing...they are sort of charlie chapin-esque to me...and watching them duch their heads and run puts us in stitches everyday!!!

little update, Roughnut is totally fine today it seems. I blocked her in a corner of the coop last night, but overnight she squeezed through a small hole to join her friends. I could tell last night she was ready to be back, but still a tad slow so I kept her seperate, or tried too. I think maybe I jsut saw it right after it happened, now the area around her eye is a little red, but nothing else.

Thanks for your response!

When I put my chick in the box, I found all the other chicks decided to get in the box with her sometime in the night. It seams like no matter how much you try to do to keep them apart, they find a way back to each other.
Glad to see your chick is doing fine.
