I am 17 and I would definately describe it as that...I mean this website is huge people are constantly posting all the time...Of course I am not on Facebook or Myspace, I would rather be here!
I spend HOURS every day on BYC. I've tried looking at other chicken forums....just not the same.
It's like going to a restaurant and ordering a Coke...the waitress says, Pepsi Ok? No, it is NOT ok. (Don't crucify me here, I only used Coke as an example...I'm a Blue Dew junkie myself)
But, lately, I find myself avoiding newbies. When I see someone post...Can I put 50 chickens in this 4'x4' crate with a fence made of chicken wire? Hello...can you say, STUDY THE LEARNING CENTER! No, I don't really say that! I am nice, and provide them with better ideas...but Sheeshes, was I really that lost when I started?
oooohhhh, I just remembered...I was worse!
Love BYC...all the "old timers" that still keep their cool with beginners...AMAZING!!!
I'm the opposite. I love giving advice to newbies because if it weren't for the old timers giving me advice when I started chickening in 2003, back on the original byc, I would have been lost. They took the time for me, now I can pay it forward.
