My 2 favorite roosters...

These are my 2 favorite rooster I have. They are both pets and are name trained. About 99 percent of the time as long as they can hear their names they will come to me. I've always wondered if they know the difference in voices so I had my mom call them. To my surprise they didn't come at all. I called them while she held their treat and they wouldn't even approach her within about 20 feet. I took the bread and they come right to me. I've had these 2 boys since June of 2017. They were just chicks. They started in a group of 11 chicks but now due to predators and illness they are the only 2 left or my original crew. Hugo is the big white he also goes by Mr. KFC. Hugo is 10 pounds. And gummy is the other he is 9 pounds. His official name was gumbo but it shortened gummy. Do any of your guys have your roosters as pets or what? Show them! I included a pic of them as chicks. Hugo was always mistaken for a grown hen since he was such a chunky boy. Lol

They are very I love them dearly. They are my boys. Hugo loves the camera he usually poses and is in a trance lol

Unfortunately I cannot post a picture of my cockerel as I do not consider him my pet. He is my flock guardian and I leave him to it. He tolerates me handling his girls and leaves me be no matter how much complaining the girls do. He's a good boy.

My best man, Blue He is my Old English Game Bantam Rooster that I absolutely LOVE! He’s super sweet, and loves his girls. I’ve hatched 5 chicks from him and his 5 girls. He has his own coop of OEGB pullets. He is beautiful in every single way.

My next “best” man, Mercury. Mercury is a Brahma mix that has his own coop of largefowl girls. He loves his girls and respects me.

Unfortunately I cannot post a picture of my cockerel as I do not consider him my pet. He is my flock guardian and I leave him to it. He tolerates me handling his girls and leaves me be no matter how much complaining the girls do. He's a good boy.

My boys guard the flock to even the 2 chicks I have. I couldn't resist making them my pets they were so cute and loving. My girls are very needy as well always needing escort to the next box or something. They are both good boys .... usually.

Blue is so beautiful and cute! I love his size. Mercury is a big boy he reminds me of my Hugo since he's so fluffy. Do they get along? My 2 boys are best friends they share their girls although gummy is the alpha.

Thank you! No, sadly they don’t get along. They even have to free range separately. Mercury is 3+ times the size of Blue and would really take a toll on him But I love them both anyways.

Yes he is a very big boy compared to blue , however if they did get along that would be a cute sight to see. I'm thankful my 2 boys get along. They have fought but nothing serious I usually get the water hose and they stop and go hide together. Hugo has actually been attacked by a dog 3 times and he's still surviving it's amazing how strong they can be.

Our Jabberwocky was a surprise. He was supposed to be a hen. He is beautiful and respectful but he just learning how deal with the ladies in the flock. Here he is as a chick, cockeral, and finally today. He is about 9 months old now.
