NutriDrench will not fix a niacin deficiency, you really need that liquid B Complex posted last page.

My TSCs, both, had NO idea what I was talking about and had never heard of ducks needing niacin. They insisted nothing in store was a niacin or B supplement (niacin is a B vitamin, in case you didn't know.)
Ignore the employees, ask directly for Durvet cattle injectable B Complex.
Amazon is also a good route, but it'll take ya two days+.

Grab yourself a thermometer to put in your brooder. A few dollars really well spent! Took me three Brooders to figure this out.
Ducklings appear to be more heat sensitive than chicks, from my experience. They could very well be too warm, while chicks are happy. Too hot ducks could result in a slight dehydration (losing vitamins!) And twitchy wings to relieve some heat.

You are so right about TSC not having a clue what is going on. I never ask them for anything because they never know what I'm talking about and I end up finding it eventually. If you go on TSC web site they have a "store availability" option but sadly that isn't always right either. The other way to get it is from Amazon. Here is the link on amazon and it's actually a bottle double the size of TSC's for a lot cheaper!

You can get human b-complex in the pharmacy section by the rest of the vitamins. It looks like this...
There is a built in dropper in the bottle. Give two droppers full two times a day.

Nutri drench is good stuff for a quick fix, but I'm not certain how much niacin is in it. You really need the liquid B or the brewers yeast for maintenance when feeding chick starter. Liquid will help faster.

i couldn’t find either of those in stores, but i did order brewers yeast last night and it is coming in tomorrow. i also got some duck feed that i give only to the ducks because it’s higher in niacin.

they didn’t have any type of vitamin b complex, and i ordered brewers yeast yesterday on amazon so it comes in tomorrow. i saw someone suggest human vitamin b complex so i will stop by a cvs tonight and see if they have it.

i’ve been using my infrared thermometer to take the temps of the brooder and i only have the lamp coming from on side. but i’ve mostly gone off of their movements, if they’re all on the colder side, i move the lamp away a bit and if they’re all under the lamp i move it closer.

Also, I got niacin powder from Amazon. Comes up when you search Niacin for ducks. I have a compounding pharmacy near by but the pharmacist looked at me like I had two heads when I asked for just b3 or niacin. Then when I brought up ducks he wanted to talk about them and why they need it. Works at the checkout when buying several large bags of frozen peas.

it is chick grits and i have done research and asked employees at locals TSCs for their opinion. everyone i’ve talked to has said chick feed was ok but i will get flock feed tomorrow along with supplements.

I use TSC for lots of things but the employees are really uneducated about nutritional needs. My local store has been out of b complex for several months. They also often mislabeled their duck breeds. My local feed store does a chick night every 3 months where Purina poultry nutritionist come to speak and answer questions. You might check around for one in your area.
