My 2 year old Polish rooster is getting hen pecked

I have a two year old white crested black polish rooster. He has gorgeous feathers and body form. He does well in shows except for one thing. The hens constantly peck his crest feathers, and now he has a large bald spot on half of his head. I've tried anti peck lotion, and trimming the feathers around his eyes so he can see. The hens still attack him even though he is bigger then him. Any thoughts on what could help?
