I shook up the orpington tree in my barn yesterday. Moved around alot of birds, culled a ton of extra cockerals and sifted through the hatchlings from Mosby and tried to decide who to keep and who to let go.
Here are some of my keeper choices. These are all sired by Mosby.
These little splashes think they are ducks. Don't look at their dirty feathers. They were playing in the muck and mess from having gotten into a waterer.
3 blues and 2 blacks
I can't wait for these girls to start laying!
Son of Mosby. I haven't come up with a name for him yet.
He has had the prettiest feathering of all the cockerals I have hatched so far.
The super dark cockerals are not nearly ad pretty as the cockerals with the lighter feathering. I hatched 2 black cockerals from Mosby and a splash. So far my girls are running very high in the production of pullets! Woot!
I have 3 more gorgeous little blue pullets but I forgot to photograph their pen when I was cleaning out and working in the barn yesterday.
