We have chickens that are about 10 weeks old. We got them altogether, 3 Ameracaunas, 3 Buff Orphingtons, 2 Barred Rocks and a Rhode Island Red. They all were getting along fine until today when I watched the 3 Ameracaunas attacking each other like Roosters, in their run. I hope I don't have 3 roosters! Is there any way to sex them or identify if they are roosters at this age? We have the same mix of chickens years ago and never had this issue.

my americaunas are feisty and do that all the time. but all still have very small combs with no sign of red and they are about 8 wks so i feel pretty confident that they are pullets as they are supposed to be. maybe they will calm down with age?

Well, that makes me feel better.... I have the white ones with gray and black feathers. Is there a way to tell at this age if any are roosters? They have small combs as well. Is a red comb the first warning of a rooster?
