I'm so excited. My first flock was obliterated by one of my dogs last month and I was so sad. I had 6 more in the brooder and was thinking about throwing in the towel. You guys told me not to give up, so after a week or so I went and bought 4 more from the local Orchard Supply here in town (2 leghorns and 2 australorps) from the pullet bin. I was told they hatched on April 22.
After a couple weeks one of the leghorns started to show some serious signs that it was in fact a boy. Here's the thread with pic: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=175850
Today there's no denying it! He is crowing his little heart out at only 4 weeks and and 3 days old and he's so darn cute! Squeek-squ-squeek-squ- squeek!!!! He's answering my neighbors roos. We named him Godzilla because of his crazy-huge comb and I'm thrilled to have a Roo in my coop.
Thanks you guys for all your support! I'm totally loving the BYC experience!
