My 4 week old girl, Daisy, seems to have very squishy/soft tissue on her crop area. I massaged it for a while and she doesn’t react, she just sits there. The other chicks’ crops are firm/not squishy. She also seems to be making a lot of “cecal” looking poops which are VERY stinky. The poops typically look caramel or dark brown in color, and range from looking melty/more wet and being slightly more solid. Not foamy that I’ve noticed. As for behavior, she’s acting normal. Very energetic and curious as usual. She eats frequently, and I’m fairly confident she’s been drinking although I haven’t personally seen her drink today.
I attached a photo of one of her poops, and most of her poops seem to look like this. She also is pooping more often than I think chickens normally do. I have Corid on hand, which I used when they were very young (when one of them was very lethargic - that one is healthy now). Should I treat for Corid again just to be safe? Could Daisy have some other sort of illness/infection?
Edit: from what I’ve read, it sounds like sour crop? I’ve read up on how to treat that, so I’ll keep monitoring her for a while and if her crop stays how it is or gets more bloated, I’ll treat for sour crop. What about her poops? Is that related?
