Miss Grey is an Americauna hen. She is the first of 10 hens to lay her first egg a week and a half ago but has not walked really since. She hobbles on the back of the top part of her legs. I have been holding her up and walking her, doing sort of Physical Therapy on her legs and toes. Her legs and toes seem to have strengthened and she tries to stand up and walk a few steps. I don't see grey in her eyes, a symptom of Mareks disease don't think it's that.
Is it possible to be injured after laying an egg?
We had 2 roosters until a week ago..we gave them away. My husband said they were trying to mate with her at the same time and the weight of both of them injured her.
What do you think? I love Miss Grey.
