Miss Grey is an Americauna hen. She is the first of 10 hens to lay her first egg a week and a half ago but has not walked really since. She hobbles on the back of the top part of her legs. I have been holding her up and walking her, doing sort of Physical Therapy on her legs and toes. Her legs and toes seem to have strengthened and she tries to stand up and walk a few steps. I don't see grey in her eyes, a symptom of Mareks disease don't think it's that.

Is it possible to be injured after laying an egg?
We had 2 roosters until a week ago..we gave them away. My husband said they were trying to mate with her at the same time and the weight of both of them injured her.
What do you think? I love Miss Grey.

So sorry to hear of Miss Grey's problem. Sounds like you are doing all you can at this time and it may be a long recovery but don't give up. I had a goose once who injured his leg - sounds like the same type of injury. Since she is showing improvement I'd keep my hopes up and see how she does with the therapy. Animals are just amazing how they can pull through the most difficult circumstances and you are doing a great job in helping her. Just be patient and don't give up - she sure hasn't.
