my 5 chickens eat 40 crickets in 2 minutes youtube

One of my girls has learned that when I move things in the yard, there's a good chance a cricket or two will be under them.

Last week, I stopped at the pet store for mealworms---35 worms for $3.50! I thought it would be great to see the girls react to them. I placed the tub of worms on the dropping board and went about my business of cleaning---I looked over and the two EE (youngest/smallest ones) had CLEANED the tub!

So, today, I stopped at the little fishing shop (has crickets and worms etc) for 5$ worth of crickets and 3$ worth of red wigglers!! I tore the bag of crickets open and it took them 5 min. to clean them up! So, after I did my cleaning, I threw down the worms-----THEY would NOT touch them..... those wigglers had time to go into the ground...Oh, sure they tasted them but they didn't care one thing about them...

My grandson (2) said --"don't buy 'em no more worms, granny".... So, I guess we'll just be serving crickets....LOL

My girls looovve worms, I have an extra large compost heap and it's full of worms, for a treat I'll give the girls a big hunk of the mix and let them pick out the worms, they move as fast as the chickens going for the crickets! very cool vid
